The Corbett Meadow in Amblecote is a beautiful green space that had been threatened by the proposed development of 84 houses.
To fight the application and protect Corbett Meadow and Stourbridge’s Green Belt, I teamed up with local councillors, West Midlands Mayor Andy Street and local campaign group the Corbett Meadow Action Group (CMAG).
The planning application was thankfully rejected and the developers chose not to appeal the rejection.
The Draft Dudley Local Plan proposes that the Meadow should be designated as a regionally important Site of Interest for Nature Conservation, an Area of Historic Landscape Value and as a Local Green Space.
I will continue to monitor developments on the future of the Meadow closely.
