Cradley is an area that deserves proper regeneration and I am working with local councillors, campaigners, and residents to deliver outcomes that local people can be proud.
After years of campaigning by local people and myself, I am delighted that Dudley Council has announced that the derelict shops on Colley Gate are set to finally be demolished. These buildings have stood derelict for over two decades and have been a real eyesore in Cradley. This represents a major step forward in the regeneration of Cradley.
I have been informed by the Council that they are looking at replacing the four shops with eight affordable flats. Dudley Council will submit a planning application shortly and I will keep you informed as the proposals progress.
I passionately believe that we must adopt a ‘brownfield first’ approach to building new homes and this is a prime example of how we can build the homes we need in a sustainable way that protects our precious green belt.
This is all part of the wider regeneration of Cradley that I shall continue to campaign for.
