I am delighted that the Animal Welfare (Sentience) Bill passed its Second Reading in Parliament this week.
A number of constituents have contacted me about this and I know how important the Bill’s passage is to you (and Sid!) 
The Bill means animals will be recognised as sentient beings for the first time in UK law. It also ensures that the Government must take into account animal sentience when developing policies.
