My priority for Stourbridge is jobs and investment.
That is why I held a breakfast meeting with some of Stourbridge's biggest employers ahead of the Chancellor's Spring Statement to hear views and concerns about the present economic climate.
We spoke about some of the challenges businesses are facing, including skills shortages, filling job vacancies, and securing industrial and commercial properties in the local area to facilitate expansion.
Private sector innovation is the key to a strong economy and delivering prosperity for working people. Local businesses are important engines that drive economic growth and employ hundreds of local people. That is why it is important that the Government does it all can to foster a climate where businesses can thrive as we recover from the global pandemic.
All that was mentioned will be fed back to the relevant ministers. It is important they know what is going on in Stourbridge and what our businesses are thinking.
