At the conference in Manchester I spoke on the need to attract the best of talents to the region but also create our own homegrown talent – train, skill and reward them with high quality jobs.
With unemployment falling once again & another record rise in the number of workers on employers payrolls-it’s clear our plan to create, support & protect jobs is working- with 10 of our 12 regions now back pleasingly up ABOVE pre-pandemic payroll levels.
In our Jobcentres we are connecting local jobseekers to the record number of vacancies out there - matching talent & opportunities across the country - so that people can find their next work opportunity & be ready to take their next step
