As you may be aware, in July a planning application was submitted for the development of 84 houses on Corbett Meadow.
Along with hundreds of local residents, I have submitted my objection to the planned development as it would destroy a beloved public amenity and haven for wildlife. The Draft Black Country Plan has designated Corbett Meadow as a 'Local Green Space' - recognising its particular importance to the local community and affording it protection from inappropriate development.
I would like to thank the Corbett Meadow Action Group and the local Amblecote councillors for their concerted opposition to the plans and determination to protect this historic site. I have worked closely with the Group and local councillors and I know the tireless work they have put in to save the meadow.
I would also like to say thank you to local residents for having their say on the plans and I hope that Dudley Council will take into account the overwhelming local opposition when making a decision on the planning application.
