I have visited the new Barclays Bank site located in Stourbridge Library following the closure of the town’s branch in December.
I met with Barclays staff to hear how they have settled in and how many customers are coming through the doors.
In the library, the bank has a welcome desk and then a private office for people who want to discuss banking matters in private.
Although I was disappointed with the closure of the bank’s branch, I am pleased Barclays is committed to a presence in Stourbridge as this will very much aid those who still want to bank in person.
I am aware that many people do not now bank at a branch and instead use internet or telephone banking but there are still some who need to see people and prefer to do so. Barclays is supporting those people and this is good news.
The site in the library is open Monday-Friday 9.30 - 12.30, 13.00 - 16.30
