Face masks are to be made mandatory in shops and on public transport from Tuesday, 30 November due to concerns about a new variant of coronavirus being called Omicron.
I attended an online meeting last night with Sajid Javid, the Health Secretary, and MPs of all parties where he explained the new measures being introduced.
Other new measures include the requirement for people returning from abroad to have a Day 2 PCR test and self isolate until they receive a negative test result.
Also, all contacts of suspected Omicron cases must self-isolate for 10 days.
