I was honoured to attend a weekend of events to mark Remembrance Sunday.
I went to three services across the constituency to mark the occasion.
I attended a ceremony with councillor Dave Borley at Christchurch in Lye, where I laid a wreath.
Following this I went to the main service in Stourbridge at Mary Stevens Park, run by the Royal British Legion and joined the councillors who walked in the parade. Then I laid a wreath on behalf of the people of Stourbridge.
Many groups attended the parade, including the army reservists, army cadets, police cadets, RAF marching band and the brownies and scouts.
After this I travelled to Cradley to lay a wreath with James Morris MP at St Peter's Church.
In addition, I popped into the army reserve base in Stourbridge and spoke with several armed forces personnel and the commanding officer.
On Saturday, I went to the Stourbridge Military Vehicle Parade. I met everyone at the top of the high street before the parade and introduced herself to the pipe band, who let me try out the various drums and instruments.
I also went in a military car and met the local cadets before she talked with people who had brought their vehicles to the event, sponsored by Pre-Metro and organised by David Spruce.
What a fantastic and moving weekend of events across Stourbridge. I was honoured to attend them all and pay my respects to all those who have served and sacrificed to protect our country over the years.
The turnout from the people of Stourbridge was amazing. I know they share my feelings that Remembrance Sunday is an important and fitting tribute to those who fell in battle.
I would like to thank everyone who went out of their way to organise all these events and services, to all those who took part and to the public for showing such unstinting support. It is a day to make our country proud and I was proud to take part.
