Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb joined ten-year-old Emma Macklin on a walk at the weekend as the youngster continues to raise money for Mary Stevens Hospice.
Emma, who attends St Joseph’s Primary School, is walking 30 miles each month for the charity in memory of her nanna Brenda Cadwallader.
Brenda was a volunteer at the hospice for 15 years and then went there for her end-of-life care when she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer.
Suzanne and her dog Sid walked along with Emma, her mom Lisa Cadwallader and uncle Ian Cadwallader and their dog Winnie for the last 5.8miles of her 30 miles for May.
They walked over Three Fields and Bunker’s Hill Wood. With six months to go, Emma has already raised £2425 of her £2500 target.
“It was an honour to join Emma and her family at the weekend for a walk to help such a great local cause,” said Suzanne.
“Emma is an inspiration and to have walked all this way and raised so much money is an achievement for anyone let alone a 10-year-old.
“I have absolutely no doubt Emma will reach her target but, if anyone is able to help her then please donate and support the hospice and the wonderful work it does.”
Mary Stevens Hospice provides specialist palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.
