Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb has urged local people to come forward and have the coronavirus vaccine as soon as they are asked.
Speaking in the House of Commons today, Suzanne said the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine rollout in the West Midlands was “an historic moment”.
“I urge my constituents of Stourbridge when the call to arms comes, please do take up the vaccine,” she told MPs.
However, she warned that people “must keep adhering to social distancing – face, space and hands” and “never more so than now is this a moral imperative”.
Speaking afterwards, Suzanne added: “We have a vaccine, which is incredible news and more options hopefully on the way, but we simply cannot be complacent. It will take months for the most vulnerable to be given the jab and so we must make sure infections are kept as low as possible while this happens.
“This first vaccine needs to be given twice to be effective and I do hope everyone will come forward in Stourbridge and ensure they have both jabs when their time comes. Lives depend on people having this safe vaccination.
“To those who are worried about what they see about vaccines, especially online, I can only say this: there is so much misinformation and downright nonsense doing the rounds but please just ignore it.
"We have a safe and effective vaccine. If everyone does their bit, we can get our lives back. It's as simple as that.”
