The MP for Stourbridge attended the Midlands Colleges Parliamentary reception on Tuesday 3rd March alongside the Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson.
The reception hosted by the Skills and Education Group helps to unite education and skills-oriented organisations.
It also encourages a coalition of UK parliamentarians from all parties, and is devoted to raising the profile of status and skills as well as employment policy in the UK.
Suzanne Webb MP said: “I was delighted to join the Secretary of State for Education and other MPs from Dudley at the Skills and Education Group parliamentary reception.
“I believe that all people should have access to a range of training opportunities, and this includes further education.”
“Recently in Stourbridge, we heard the devastating news that BMET could no longer run Stourbridge College. I am continuing the work of my predecessor to ensure the site is retained for educational purposes.
“Colleges are an excellent way for people to continue their education. It incorporates lower tuition fees, flexible study options including part-time or full-time, and progressive programmes through to degree courses.
“The group works to provide further educational opportunities and supports organisations to deliver quality services for learners. I am keen to do all I can to support their aims.”
