Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb has received her Covid vaccination at the Black Country Living Museum vaccination centre this morning.
Suzanne was called forward as part of her age cohort to receive the Oxford/AstraZeneca immunisation at the site on Tipton Road.
Medical student Jamie from Birmingham gave Suzanne her jab on the day it is expected half of the UK’s adult population will have had one dose of the vaccine. Yesterday, a record 660,276 doses were given across the country.
“It was a surprisingly emotional moment for me to receive the jab and I thank Jamie and everyone based at the Black Country Museum for all they are doing to protect the West Midlands population from the virus,” said Suzanne.
“It’s such an efficient operation from beginning to end and I could see others were relieved and very happy to be getting their dose too. It’s been a very long year with many challenges but this vaccination rollout is quite superb.
“I was particularly pleased I received the Oxford jab because it’s safe and effective and it’s important that MPs and other public figures show their utmost confidence in it by having it themselves.
“Can I please ask everyone who is called forward to go and have their injection – it doesn’t matter which they are offered. It’s everyone’s way back to a normal life.”
