I visited the town’s Tesco to support the supermarket’s partnership with FareShare’s winter food collection programme.
I met with Tesco and FareShare representatives at the store in the Crown Centre on Friday to talk about the annual initiative.
FareShare UK supports nearly 10,000 charities across the country and more than 550 in the Midlands - making it the region’s largest food redistribution charity.
Dried and tinned foods, as well as other long life food items are most wanted and it is the 11th year of the food collection collaboration between FareShare and Tesco.
Many thanks to Tesco and FareShare for this successful collaboration that ensures vulnerable people can access donated and excess food from the supermarket and elsewhere.
This time of year can be a pressure for families and I would like to thank everyone who donates food and the volunteers who help deliver it.
