I went to the Army Reserve Centre in Swinford Road on Saturday to meet with Major Tom O'Sullivan, who gave me a presentation about 63 MI along with Sergeant Major Martin Brown.
I was told about the unit’s work in human intelligence and the progression of individual reserve soldiers over five years. I was also given a tour of the facility that includes a gym and bar.
The soldiers told me that they were pleased with local support the unit receives from the local community.
In these uncertain times, it was really important I went to my local army unit to meet with reserve soldiers who are undertaking vital work to ensure our nation is safe.
I received an interesting insight into the unit’s role right here in the heart of Stourbridge and it was a pleasure to meet Major O’Sullivan and Sgt Major Brown.
Our reserve forces are a potent and effective addition to the regular forces and I thank them for their service and expertise.
