I was delighted to return to Colley Lane Primary Academy in June to catch-up on the incredible work the school is doing for its pupils - particularly those with special educational needs or who have experienced trauma.
I was impressed by the incredible work being done by the amazing team of specially-trained staff at The Hive, which is the school's bespoke facility for vulnerable children. I saw first-hand how the nurturing environment and extra help the school are providing is making a real difference to these pupils' lives.
The Headteacher Dominic Simpson also updated me on the brilliant work the school does to support our Armed Forces by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant, supporting staff who are Reservists, and hiring veterans. Armed Forces Week was celebrated in June and it is fantastic to see a local school doing so much for our Armed Forces.
There are so many exciting projects going on at the school and I look forward to following their progress.
