It has been an honour and privilege to serve the Prime Minister and to gain an incredible insight into the workings of government and I will continue to do so until the appointment of the new Prime Minister.
However, it had become clear over the last few days that whatever Liz did would not be enough and today she has tendered her resignation.
We now search for a new leader. I am always loyal, and I will fully support whoever that is.
My job is to make sure that whoever is Prime Minister that they do the best thing for Stourbridge, that we deliver on the levelling up agenda, ensure Lye is chosen as an investment zone, plans for the regeneration of Stourbridge High Street are delivered and to ensure the police reinstate a police station. Not forgetting our Stourbridge Dasher. These are just a few of the projects in the pipeline.
The contest to replace Liz is expected to be completed by the end of next week.
I will keep you updated as the process develops although I am sure the media and social media will keep you posted too!
