It was lovely to visit Oldswinford C of E Primary School to meet staff and pupils.
I spoke to Year 4 students on Friday. They have been learning about climate change, including the climate coalition's green heart 'show the love' campaign.
They've have also been learning about the Amazon Rainforest and how actions here in Stourbridge are impacting the wider world in terms of climate change, deforestation and endangered species.
I was asked what it is like to be an MP, raising the issue of climate change with the Prime Minister, the use of palm oil, and how the government is planning to find sustainable energy.
Each child gave me a 'show the love' green heart card with little messages for me to take away to Westminster.
Many thanks to Year 4 at Oldswinford for a brilliant visit where I met so many informed pupils who care passionately about their environment here in Stourbridge but also across the world.
I always really enjoy a Q&A session at every school I visit and it’s important to know about and understand what our children are thinking and feeling about a range of issues. I was able to explain how I limit the amount of single use plastic I use and how passionate I am about protecting green spaces.
The school’s focus on the climate is to be commended and I thank the Deputy Head Jo Seker and her staff for allowing me to visit a great school.
