I met the winner and runners-up of the King’s Coronation card competition at Amblecote Primary School. I congratulated the winner Lola Beard, 11, a year 6 pupil at the school who won the competition with her design of the crown on a Union Flag background.
The runners-up were: Zoya Khawar, 10, a year 5 pupil from Amblecote, Molly Wheelwright, 10, a year 6 pupil at Ham Dingle Primary School and seven-year-old Maggie Reynolds a year 2 pupil from The Ridge Primary School.
There was also a category for a card from Sid the dog and this was won by 11-year-old Baylee Rakowski – a year 6 pupil from Amblecote.
We had a signing event with the pupils and the cards have now been sent to The King and Queen.
Many congratulations to everyone who entered from schools in Stourbridge – I was blown away by the quality of the designs.
Very well done to Lola for winning the competition. I loved her colourful picture of the crown and the very patriotic Union Flag behind it. It really captured the message I wanted to send to His Majesty.
It was a pleasure to go to Amblecote to meet the winner and the excellent runners-up too. I thank them and everyone who submitted a design. I am sure The King and Queen will be pleased to receive them.
