I tucked into a pizza on a visit to one of the town’s newest restaurants.
I went to Gusto Di Italia at the top end of Stourbridge High Street to meet the owners Heba Mohammad and her partner Ahmed Rabie, who is the chef and has Italian ancestry.
The restaurant opened in October last year. The couple both lived in Italy for six years before deciding to come to England with their daughter.
Their ambition was to produce authentic Italian food and told the MP Stourbridge was the perfect place.
On the visit, Ahmed showed me how he makes the pizza and talked me through the process. I chose the diavola pizza, which is tomato sauce, mozzarella, and salami.
What a treat to go to one of Stourbridge’s newest restaurants to show my support and get the chance to see my own delicious pizza made.
I always welcome anyone who is prepared to invest in our town, employ people and contribute to the night time economy as we look to further improve the High Street.
I wish Gusto Di Italia all the very best and I will pop in again soon.
