Suzanne Webb MP is supporting Dudley Council for Voluntary Services (DCVS) who are working with Dudley Council to co-ordinate offers of support from local residents, businesses and organisations throughout the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak.
The effort will bring together Dudley Council, Public Health, West Midlands Police, the Fire Service, the NHS and volunteers to help people that need support.
This includes exploring the establishment of six new virtual Covid-19 support networks, in localities such as Stourbridge, Amblecote, Lye, Wollescote, and Quarry Bank.
It will also include sharing public health information to help keep residents informed, supporting vulnerable adults, and engaging with the sector to facilitate business continuity.
Suzanne Webb MP said: “The coronavirus outbreak is a challenging time for us all, especially older people and those with underlying health conditions.
“Where possible, we must play our part in helping those who need support the most. Therefore, I have offered my support to DCVS to do what I can to help people affected.
“It is moving to see the generosity and kindness shown by Stourbridge residents at this difficult time. This demonstrates just how strong our community is and I hope to contribute to that in the weeks to come.
“In the meantime, I will be publishing up-to-date coronavirus advice on my social media pages and on my website, which you can read by visiting https://www.suzannewebb.org.uk/coronavirus-advice.”
