Stourbridge MP Suzanne Webb has taken part in a ‘Question Time’ event involving pupils from Thorns Collegiate Academy in Brierley Hill.
Suzanne went to the school in Stockwell Avenue on Friday 21 May to talk to a group of Year 9 students.
She answered questions from the students on topics ranging from when will young people be vaccinated against Covid, MP expenses, NHS pay and a lack of youth club provisions for teenagers.
“I was really impressed with the excellent questions these young students asked and how passionate they are about the world and current affairs,” said Suzanne.
“Every time I go to a school, I am always blown away with how articulate our young people are and how they care about topics such as injustice and the environment.
“I would like to thank the school for inviting me and especially the pupils who came to ask questions and take part in an interesting discussion.”
School Principal Manny Kelay added: “Our students posed some very challenging questions and Suzanne did not shy away from the key issues and topics raised by them.
“She was evidently engaged with our pupils which made for a very informative discussion. We remain indebted to Suzanne for taking her time to be with us, for which we are extremely grateful.”
