Today I supported a local Good Samaritan’s search to find bigger premises for her homeless support charity five years after it was launched.
Leslie’s Care Packages was founded in August 2016 by Vi Wood in memory of her husband Leslie to keep his memory alive.
It aims to help the homeless and other vulnerable groups across the Black Country and provides much needed provisions, such as food, toiletries, sleeping bags, and clothing to those in need.
It receives no official funding and relies solely on donations. It now needs bigger premises to help more people.
“Vi wants to set up a local community drop-in centre to help more people and if anyone knows of a building that might fit the bill then please get in touch with this wonderful organisation,”
“Next week will be the fifth anniversary of Vi setting up the charity. It has done a lot of good work and I hope it can find new accommodation.
“Homelessness is a complex issue requiring intervention from many organisations and authorities. But without initiatives like Leslie’s Care Packages the job would be much harder and I thank Vi for all she is doing.”
